because the light from the Delay Light Machine is very close to us and
finally, cause us to see in a horizontal or vertical line similar a
comet's movement.

If the flashlight is the Delay Light Machine and moving (Black Arrow), the light or the image that we see will be a signal (Green Arrow).
When the Delay Light Machine has passed....It will be left only the light (Green Arrow in Pic 4)

If planet A is far away from us for several millions of light years (Pic 1)....The natural light that we see from the planet A is became a past. (Black Arrow)
How to see the present or closely?
We will see the light or signal that is nearly present as possible as if the planet A has a device such as The Delay Light Machine there. (Green Square in Pic 2)
And this Delay Light Machine will be a part of the device that used to Signals Sending.

As we are moving from A1 to A2 (Pic 1) Our image are moving through the Delay Light Machine (Green Arrow) too.
Our normal moving must be faster than the delay of image or light from the Delay Light Machine.....Finally, At the A2 we will see ourselves from the mirror at A1 too. (Red Arrow in Pic 2)

If we are the light that travels into the universe and what is the fastest way to came back to see ourselves?....I think it's about turning back or using a mirror to reflect.
And if the additional conditions are we stilling seen ourselves or our image at the same location and time.
How is it? Is there any possible way?
Explanation
Suppose that we are at the position A (Pic 1) and stretching the point to A1 and A2 (Pic2), which is where we start traveling and return to ourselves (A1 = A2).
When we are moving from A1 to A2.....While we are at the A2, we will stilling see the image or ourselves at A1 too (Pic2).
The methods which I think that may be possible are as follow.
1. Mr Flash from the Avenger movie (Pic 3)
2. Use the camera to record images.....When we are at position A1 (Pic 4) and when we came to the A2 (Pic 5), the recorded from the camera will be showing (Pic 6).
3. When we are at the position A2, we will seen ourselves from A1 through The Delay Light Machine.

Suppose that we are the light and travel out into the universe in a straight line as in Pic 1 (Black Arrow)
If following The Line Theory, the light will become a curve and return to its original position as in Pic 2 (Black Arrow)
How Fastest Than Natural Light?
I think that reflection ourselves from the mirror is the fastest way to get back to the original location as in Pic 3 (Red Arrow)
The result is a return to the original position (Green Arrow).
And Someone will call this method like..... "Cheating"
